History

Seville, a city more than 3000 years old, is overflowing with history and its artistic legacy is marked by the passage of different civilizations which have occupied it. The city has many facets which are a mixture of Islamic and Christian architecture. The symbol of Seville, the Giralda, is wellknown worldwide. It is a 100 metre high Arabic tower from which a magnificent view of the city may be enjoyed. The Cathedral dates back to the XIV century and comprises several architectural styles. It is the third biggest temple in the world and there are many artistic treasures kept inside.

In XVI C., Seville and its port became the most important city of the Spanish Empire making it. The communication port between Spain and her colonies in America. The Port made the starting and finishing point of the first trip around the world.
