General Plan of the Port
The port of Huelva is situated in the estuary formed by the rivers Odiel and Tinto. The new quays and commercial facilities of the Exterior Port, downstream near the confluence of these rivers have been built in the surroundings of the historical Columbus Places (Monastery of La Rábida, Quay of the Caravels, Columbus Monument, etc.).

From the entrance of the estuary to the quays a between 6 to 10 Km navigation channel is protected by the Juan Carlos I breakwater. It consists of a sandy bottom, depths of 12 m and widths that enable navigation and manoeuvring of ships up to 250 m in length, in outer ports.
On the other hand, ships of lesser depths (approx. 6 m) can moor at the Levante quay in the inner port, in the centre of the city of Huelva.
